SME Lancers Gridiron Club 5th Quarters
Coach Sherman and his wife Angela started 5th Quarters while coaching at his first high school thirty years ago. He realized that his players and students needed a safe place to gather on Friday nights after football games. The first 5th Quarters have been a tradition at every high school he has coached. There are two rules: no drugs and no alcohol.
Who:
5th Quarter parties are for all Shawnee Mission East students. Football Coaches and host parents will chaperone.
When:
Friday nights after home football games.
Time:
9:00 ish until 11:00 p.m.
2011 5th Quarter Dates
Friday, September 2: Player only dinner immediately following practices and JV game at SME, Junior lot.
Friday, September 9: Franklin Park after the Olathe East game
Friday, September 23: SME Softball field -- this is the Homecoming Bonfire
Friday, October 7: Player only 5th Quarter immediately following game at the Lowe's home, hosted by the Lowe's and others tba.
Friday, October 21: Village Presbyterian Church after the SMW game
